It’s our special day of remembrance and gratitude. Memorial Day is the opportunity each year to formally honor the veterans of Cuyahoga Heights who answered the call to arms. The men and women who volunteered and responded to the draft to serve the United States. Those who were immigrants, were given citizenship upon entering the service and fighting for their new homeland. They served in peacetime and conflict including two World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf Wars, Afghanistan and Iraq. The marble memorial in front of Village Hall was dedicated in 1948 as a permanent tribute to all who served in the military and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!
